Which Magento are you on?

Magento 1
Magento 1 support ended on 30 June 2020, for both the paid and the free edition. A store still on Magento 1 is running software that has not had official security patches for years, so it should be moved.
Magento 2.4
Adobe’s lifecycle policy for Adobe Commerce gives each version three years of standard support plus one year of extended support. Versions 2.4.4 and 2.4.5 are already past extended support. Each 2.4 release also needs specific PHP versions, so the store and its PHP version have to be kept in step.
Magento Open Source is the free edition and Adobe Commerce is the paid one. Tell us which you have.

Magento questions, answered
Is Magento 1 still supported?
No. Magento 1 support ended on 30 June 2020. If your store is still on it, moving is the sensible next step.
Can I move my Magento 1 store to Magento 2?
Adobe provides a Data Migration Tool that moves products, customers, orders, store configuration and promotions. Media files, your storefront design, admin user accounts and API credentials are moved separately by hand, and extension data with no Magento 2 equivalent causes errors until it is dealt with.
Can I export my products and customers?
Yes. Under System, Data Transfer, Export, Magento produces CSV files for products, customers, customer addresses, advanced pricing and stock. Orders are exported from the orders grid as a CSV or Excel XML file.
Do I have to stay on Magento?
No. Magento suits large, complex catalogues. For many smaller stores, WooCommerce or Shopify is simpler and cheaper to look after. We will tell you honestly which we think fits.
Do you do Magento development?
